Pricing Policy
As a biracial woman who was raised by a social worker and a teacher, being of service is one of my core values. I fundamentally believe that everyone deserves the best coaching. I also acknowledge that coaching can be inaccessible to those who need it most. Because coaching is an unregulated industry, pricing varies wildly from one coach to another, making it difficult for prospective clients to understand the value of what they’re paying for. The field of coaching is also a predominantly white profession, dominated by women (with men, unsurprisingly, in the highest positions of power). I want to disrupt these systems and I’m committed to making my services accessible to those who need it most by providing sliding scale rates to those who identify as LGBTQIA2+, Black, Indigenous, and people of color.
Trying to put monetary value on work that has the potential to transform a life is a complex thing. When you hire me as a coach you are choosing a professional with credentials and experience who has worked extremely hard to develop her expertise through countless hours of training and certification programs. You are hiring a coach with many years of experience working with a diverse clientele. You are working with someone who commits to her personal and professional development on an on-going basis. You are choosing a coach who strives to create a safe environment for her clients. You are also supporting a small business owner who has built her practice slowly and thoughtfully over time.
While I do offer a sliding scale on a case-by-case basis, please consider paying my full rate if you:
Have an absolute “heck yes!!” reaction at the prospect of hiring me
Own the home you live in
Have investments, retirement accounts, or inherited money
Travel recreationally
Have access to family money and resources in times of need
Work part-time by choice
Have a relatively high degree of earning power due to level of education, gender privilege, racial privilege, class background, etc. Even if you are not currently exercising your earning power, I ask you to recognize this as a choice.
While extended health insurance plans typically do not cover coaching services, health spending accounts increasingly do, and more and more employers reimburse coaching services for their employees. I encourage you to talk to your employer about options for support.
